Peter Young, Director

Peter YoungPeter Young has been practising law since 1980 gaining extensive experience in the law dealing with property developments, capital raising and debt funding for property projects, town planning, subdivisions and strata titles, property management and leasing. He was a property law partner of a leading national law firm for 16 years before retiring from that partnership in 2002 to establish Young & Connell.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Western Australia and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance & Investment from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

He is a member of the Law Society of Western Australia and a member of the Law Society’s Property Law Committee. He is also a Senior Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and a director of the not-for-profit organisation, Ngala.

Michael Reedy, Consultant

Michael ReedyMichael Reedy practises in the areas of commercial and business law, property development, contract drafting, conveyancing, leasing and property management.

Michael has 17 years experience in the law dealing with these practice areas primarily advising and assisting clients in relation to property developments, pre-acquisition due diligence of multi-tenanted properties and leasing (retail, commercial and industrial properties). His particular expertise is his understanding of the legal rights and obligations arising from the ownership and management of leased property.

He has previously been a property partner of a national law firm, the partner in charge of the commercial division of a medium sized WA firm and the head of the Perth office of a national law firm.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Australia. He is a member of the Law Society of Western Australia and a member of the Law Society’s Property Law Committee.

Paul McWilliams, Senior Lawyer

Paul McWilliamsPaul McWilliams practises in the areas of property and business law, primarily in property development, contract drafting, finance and securities, conveyancing and leasing.

Having commenced practising in 2003, Paul has gained experience in the law dealing with these practice areas, and maintained a focus on assisting clients with commercial, financial, security and property transactions.

He has previously been a solicitor at a national Australian law firm practising in the areas of commercial and business law, finance and securities and property law and an Associate at the Singapore branch of an English law firm specialising in syndicated cross-border acquisition and asset finance.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Australia. He has also completed a diploma in advanced banking law at Allen & Overy’s London based University of Banking.
